Dear Parents/ Carers,
I wanted to introduce myself and wish you a warm welcome / welcome back to the playschool.
My name is Emma Cox and I have taken over the Chairperson role of the playschool. My daughter Jessica started here last year and if we haven’t met yet, then hopefully our paths will cross this term.
We have a lovely committee of warm, friendly mums (but dads/grandparents etc are welcome too!) and together with the staff we work to maintain the wonderful environment that the playschool provides for the children.
As a charity-run playschool we rely on fundraising, and help from parents… so please have a think about whether there is anything you could possibly contribute, be it an hour here or there, or a specific skill.
If you think you might like to get involved in the committee we would love to welcome you, and we hold our annual AGM in November to elect new members. We meet once a term (in the pub!) and it’s a great opportunity to meet other parents and be involved in decisions that affect the running of the playschool.
Here’s a taster of the events the committee will be running/ attending this year;
The summer sees us at the School summer Fair, and this year we are hoping to hold a new fundraising event with details yet to be finalised!
In October we have our Pumpkin Ball – a really memorable event – everyone dresses up in their Halloween costumes and enjoys a disco and lots of fun.
In December we join in at the School Christmas Fair, with a glitter tattoo stall… and don’t forget the children’s Christmas play here at the playschool (we’ll be on the look out for raffle prizes for this, if you think you might have something to donate!)
Lots of fun to be had – I hope you can join us.
With warm wishes
